Entrepreneurship Opportunities

As it is not only the idea that is important in the entrepreneurship but also the opportunities and maximum usage of such opportunities that is a presumption in entrepreneurship. According to its missions and objectives, Entrepreneurship Development Foundation, therefore, is going to detect the field for making entrepreneurship, particularly among young people by detecting and studying new opportunities for entrepreneurship and foster them as well as providing the young talented people with the introduction of such fields.

Some routes determined by foundation for this reason detailed as below:

  • Economic advantage of different regions nationally;
  • Linkage and cooperation with related institutes in the public sector, professional organizations and international institutes;
  • Holding specific meetings for determining the entrepreneurship opportunities and linking the experienced people with someone who will enter to the entrepreneurship field.

 

One of the projects of this foundation includes “The Researching Project of Recognizing the Sustainable and New Economic Advantages in Kerman (2012- 2013).

 

The project for advantage of competitive determination in Kerman was implemented by the approach of entrepreneurship by the order of Development and Civil Group of Kerman by Entrepreneurship Development Foundation for Women & Youth in three following steps:

Step One: Studying the Documents and Analyzing the Status Quo

In this stage, there were conducted two separate actions but related together:

a-        Reviewing the documents and reports prepared during last years and accessible in the libraries;

b-       Recognizing the status quo of key economic and social factors in the province.

Step Two: Intellectualization by Individual or Group Conversations

Theoretical discussions I “Knowledge Management” is intending to attain the implicit knowledge about the subject of study, because most of data and analyses and generally “knowledge”  present about better advantages of the province and new advantages not only provided by codified and official texts and documents in the hand of authorities and interested people, but also are considered as an implicit or hidden knowledge.

Step Three: Choosing the Advantage

In the third step of study, there has been formed a Focus Group who are familiar with region (province) on one side and are involved in the study on the other side. By studying all information and lists obtained, this group took action to:

  1. Recognizing sustainable advantages in mid- and long term;
  2. Recognizing the new advantages in the province;
  3. Choosing one or a few advantage for organizing the implementation.

Saffron Production Code & Quality Improvement Plan

This plan was executed with cooperation of National Iranian Saffron Council, Saffron Industry & Knowledge Cooperation Association, South Khorasan Province Jihad Agriculture Organization, Qaen Management Department, Qaen Health & Treatment Network, & Entrepreneurship Development Foundation in 2010 in three villages of Qaenat city: Kareh, Aliabad Sofla & Aliabad Olya.

Within the scope of the plan, each farmer would prepare his product after being trained and the product would receive an identity code in accordance with saffron quality indices. This code indicates place of planting, name of farmer, name of farm, harvest time and production year and etc.

-        Objective of the plan:

The main objective of the plan as it can be inferred from its title is improving quality of Iranian Saffron so that we can cause it approach to international standards and remove the major disadvantages of the Iran saffron which is due to non-awareness of saffron planters.  This plan focuses on the following objectives:

-        To put into order saffron processing operation

-        To assist in rural farmers living improvement

-        To organize active persons in saffron processing

-        To prevent income outflows from villages to suburbs

-        Activities:

The activities performed during this plan are as follows:

  1. Coordination of the foundation with National Saffron Council for preparation of  standard scientific instruction of saffron processing
  2. Coordination with Qaenat Jihad Agriculture and Health & Treatment Department for supplying human resources and executive resources
  3. Coordination with Kareh, Aliaabad councils and the villages residents
  4. Coordination with council members, head of village and local trustees
  5. Explanatory sessions with farmers including these subjects: respect to farmers, their traditional knowledge, justify them to change saffron processing methods, explain benevolent and non-profit intentions of practitioners of the plan and to guarantee product purchase with higher price
  6. To train workers and farmers
  7. To issue identity code for trained workers
  8. To prepare and distribute training brochure for farmers and Golpar removers
  9. To equip saffron processing bases at Hosseinieh of each village under supervision of Jihad Agriculture and Health & Treatment Department
  10. To seal and weigh the dried saffron in presence of farmer or his representative and to stick National Standard Identity Label for Saffron.

Achievement:

-        To promote saffron health level and make identity for saffron for the first time in Iran

Specialized Meeting of Tourism & Entrepreneurship Opportunities:

A meeting entitled ‘Tourism & Entrepreneurship Opportunities’ was held in the presence of tourism practitioners and interested ones at the location of the foundation on 18.12.2007.

At this meeting, Dr. Alaeddini as chair of the meeting, Eng. Zarghami as responsible manager and editor-in-chief, Mr. Eskenasi as a tourism practitioner, particularly, nature tourism and Dr. Hamidi as director general of Entrepreneurship Department of Tourism Organization attended as lecturers.

 

 

Specialized Meeting entitled ‘Business Challenges in Tourism’: A meeting with the subject of ‘Business Challenges in Tourism’ was held at Entrepreneurship Development Foundation for Women & Youth on 23.12.2008. The following persons made a speech at the session:

Specialized Meeting of Review and Criticism of ‘The Fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid’ book written by Prahalad: A meeting which was convened at the foundation on 17.02.2009 for the purpose of criticizing and reviewing the book entitled ‘The fortune at the Bottom of the Pyramid’ written by Prahalad.

Specialized Meeting of Green Business Opportunities of Kermanshah Materials Recycling & Compost Production – business & entrepreneurship opportunities meeting within the area of environment was held in presence of Dr. Shirzadi, Managing Director of Kermanshah Materials Recycling & Biological Manure Production at the foundation on Monday 25.11.2013.

Specialized Meeting of Green Business Opportunities of  Navaco Karafarin Varmi Compost – this meeting was convened entitled “business & entrepreneurship opportunities within the area of environment” in the presence of Eng. Khosrow Saljooghi, Managing Director of Iran Navaco Karafarin Varmi Compost on Monday 13.01.2014.
